About Bordercall

Small, on purpose.

I'm Matt Hughes. I built BorderCall because immigration law shouldn't force a choice between real legal skill, modern technology, and genuine attention. You should get all three.

Why I started BorderCall

I spent years as a U.S. Department of State consular officer, then in private practice, watching good cases get lost at firms too large to notice them. BorderCall is my answer: a practice built around one question I ask every day. How can this be done better? Not for its own sake, but so the person on the other end of the case feels it.

Technology handles the busywork, so the time it saves goes toward understanding the people behind each application, not toward growing the number of files on a desk. My clients live around the world, so I keep a flexible schedule that meets people in their own time zone.

Our promise

You are never merely a “case” or a “problem.” You are an individual we recognize, a story we understand, and a future we’re helping build. In a world of clicks, forms, and “likes,” we make sure you’re never overlooked.

Outside the office, you'll find Matt at his kids' sporting events, with friends and family, or out enjoying the Pacific Northwest in all seasons.
